Hello Everyone,

I am little confuse about FAL_SERVER and FAL_CLIENT parameter in Data Guard. We are planning to configure multiple standby database in Data Guard environment. Assume, i have production db named as 'PROD' and multiple standby i.e stand1,stand2,stand3. So in this case how to specify above Net service name in spfile on production server and also on other standby server.

Kindly suggest.

Regards,
Vish

When all else fail, Read The Fine Manual

Hi,

I decided to set parameter as below. Please let me know whether it's correct or not.

On PROD:

FAL_SERVER=STAND1, STAND2, STAND3
FAL_CLIENT=PROD

On STAND1:

FAL_SERVER=PROD, STAND2, STAND3
FAL_CLIENT=STAND1

On STAND2:

FAL_SERVER= PROD, STAND1, STAND3
FAL_CLIENT= STAND2

On STAND3:

FAL_SERVER= PROD, STAND1, STAND2
FAL_CLIENT= STAND3
