Is it necessary to shutdown standby and then mount before taking RMAN cold backup there? If I do not shut it down then this backup is considered "inconsistent", correct? Thank you!

It is not necessary to shutdown the standby to make a backup and it would be considered inconsistent if the database is NOT shutdown or NOT in MOUNT mode.
